RHC SA / Industries
Whatever flows, we clean its way.
Water started it all in 1952. Oil took us offshore in 1996. Gas brought oxygen-grade cleanliness. And industry keeps bringing the exotic cases that sharpen our technology.

Water
WHERE RCT WAS BORN
In 1952, dirty water lines inspired A.J. Reinhart to develop the Reinhart Cleaning Technology. Since that time, water pipelines all over the world have been cleaned using our technique.
As a result of our cleaning method, the pipeline reaches a defined level of cleanliness and is refurbished at the same time — which prevents it from ageing as well. The combination of corrosion attacking the internal wall and a build-up of scale layers is the worst-case scenario: it can lead to serious damage and a complete blockage of the line.
Our company is specialised in cleaning water pipelines and is able to develop solutions for any kind of scaling — from municipal distribution networks to industrial process water.

Oil
ONSHORE & OFFSHORE
In 1996, the Reinhart Cleaning Technology made its first step into the offshore business: a successful cleaning operation in the North Sea, on the Beatrice platform near Aberdeen, executed for BP.
The success of this operation brought more oil pipeline maintenance cleaning on rigs in the North Sea and Gulf region. Over the years, the cleaning of oil pipelines became a core specialty of RHC SA — to the point that clients, realising the importance of maintenance cleaning, commission RHC SA to clean their oil pipelines monthly.
Using the RCT also showed that the results of MFL (Magnetic Flux Leakage) and UT (Ultrasonic) inspection tools improve after our cleaning campaigns.
03 — Oxygen grade
Gas
DEW POINT −65 °C
Cleaning gas pipelines is another section of our business — and a specialty of the RCT is converting pipelines from one service to another, for example from nitrogen to oxygen. Propelled by water, the line is cleaned to blank metal with the RCT, then dried with foam pigs to a dew point of −65 °C.
This process removes any kind of deposit — grease, rust — as well as whatever was left behind during construction: wood, cups, stones, silica-gel bags, milling cutters, foams. It is even possible to remove weld seams and weld drops: a special RCT was designed to cut off welds and collect them at the same time, without damaging the internal surface. That tool was propelled by gas.
RHC SA always tries to solve clients' problems — since 1994 the RCT is a fixed component of the AIR LIQUIDE oxygen pipeline procedure.
04 — The exotic cases
Industry
LATEX · ALUMINIUM · CHEESE
Cleaning industrial lines pushes the RCT to develop a huge variety of tool designs. The applications are multifaceted, so we draw on our full range of cleaning tools for pipelines with very specific cleaning demands.
Some of the more exotic examples — pipe cleaning during production of:
- Latex
- Aluminium
- Cheese
This continuous development expands the field of application of RHC SA every day. The various liquids passing through pipelines, and their individual scale, give us new challenges every day — and help us improve our technology.
